THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
Window Bracket Installation:
It is recommended that this unit be installed close to a window for proper venting. Make sure you have a window that can be opened and is at least 26.6" (inches) wide (bracket can extend to 52"). Adjust the window bracket as per width or height of your window and insert the plastic pin to fix at the desired position.

I am in an older home that the upstairs is greatly influenced by the temp outside. I bought this back in March to prep for the summer as my office is upstairs. I bought a bigger unit that what I needed for my room in an effort to help keep the remainder of the area cool as well. This thing really does the job. Ice cold air and the circulation that gets created by the moving lip for the fan is nice. It has not been super hot yet here in Illinois but the days that it has warmed up, this unit was able to know my room down to about 68 from being about 75-80 in around 10 mins. Installation was really easy, be ready to cut down the window bracket though. I had to cut off a good 6-8 inches to have no blockage for it at its shortest state. Unless you somehow have a window that is fits it at the smallest point. Coping saw made quick work of this. The hose is nice and long albeit a little stiff for positioning. After that, took about 20 mins to get it nice and sealed. I think the constant drip hose is a must have, at least in my area. The unit is heavy enough that the drip pan included is going to be a bit of a pain to use, especially on carpet, and it accumulates enough water that you are better off just using the included hose and a bucket. The remote is nice, you have to be sure you are pointing it directly at the unit though. It seems that if you aren't, it will not detect it and the second it does, it will go to the setting on the remote. Example: Unit is set at 70 and you try to lower it to 68, it doesn't detect it, you adjust and hit down 2 more times, the remote is saying 66 so the unit goes to 66. Not a big deal, but pay attention otherwise you might freeze yourself out. I love this unit so far and would buy another if we needed it. Really really nice machine after about 6 weeks of having it.

This is a nice unit that puts out a lot of cold air for the size. The remote and control panel are easy to read and understand. Its nice looking and easy to mover around on its wheels. Hooking the exhaust up and placing it in a window was super easy. I cant say that it has worked very hard as I have only used it once April in Michigan, but I have high hopes that it will handle a hot and humid summer.
