Smaller Environmental Impact, Simple, Effective

I was one of the people in the first group to buy the masks and filters the moment I saw the prototype being developed last year. Although it took 6 months to receive the first batch, it was well worth the wait. I am now placing my third bulk order for these because I keep giving them to family members and close friends when I see them put on a thin disposable mask or neck gaiter. Although something is better than nothing at all, these inserts work great with the masks and offer superior protection compared to most alternatives..
They are individually sealed and ship inside what is essentially a very durable Honeywell brand Ziploc bag. I save the outer bags from each order and reuse them to hold 1-2 filters that I stash in the car, laptop bag, etc. The bag ensures they remain contaminant-free until use, and stashing a few backup filters comes in handy when I unexpectedly encounter situations where air quality is questionable and I still have most of the day left to wear the mask. The L and R embossing make it easy to identify which side of the filter should face out.
Personally, I dont replace it every day because of their fluctuating price and inconsistent availability due to high demand. If I have only come in contact with a few people and kept my distance, I use a UV-C light to sterilize the filter and mask at the end of the day. This helps me to extend the useful life of the filter by a few more days, saving money and using less non-recyclable material that ends up in a landfill. Otherwise, if I am in populated areas during the day, it is a single use item. This compromise works for me, but your mileage may vary.
