What Are Honeywell Insight Air Purifiers?
These home air purifiers have been engineered to capture up to 99.97% of the following microscopic airborne allergens and particles: dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris and smoke. These portable air purifiers use an easy to read VOC sensor that displays the surrounding air quality level. They also implement a custom filtration process via enhanced odor filters, effectively turning them into pet air purifiers, smoke air purifiers and air purifiers for allergies.
How effective is the HPA5100 at removing allergens?
The Honeywell HPA5100 is a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air purifier, which means it can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. This includes dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. The portable air purifier also has an activated carbon pre-filter that helps remove odors and VOCs.
How big of a room can the Honeywell HPA5100 clean?
The Honeywell HPA5100 is rated to clean rooms up to 175 square feet. This makes it a medium to large room air purifier. However, the actual size of the room that the HPA5100 can clean will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
How loud is the Honeywell HPA5100?
The Honeywell HPA5100 has four settings, and the noise level varies depending on the setting. At the lowest speed, this home air purifier is about as quiet as a whisper. At the highest speed, the portable air purifier is about as loud as a normal conversation.
How often do I need to change the filters on the Honeywell HPA5100?
The Honeywell HPA5100 comes with a pre-filter and a HEPA filter. The pre-filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, and the HEPA filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. InSight Air Purifiers can also use enhanced filters that should be replaced every 3 months.
What filters do I need for the HPA5100?
The HPA5100 uses Replacement True HEPA Filter R and Replacement Pre-filter A.Optional enhanced odor filters can be used for targeting specific odors.
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from
moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter
and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines
only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To ensure the unit is
performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run
your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your
air purifier 24 hours a day
Can I wash any of the filters in my Air Purifier?
No. Washing the filters in your air purifier will ruin them.
What are VOCs?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted from various solids and liquids such as paints, cleaning
supplies, building materials, and permanent markers. Some of these compounds can have adverse short and
long term health effects and consistently have higher concentrations indoors than outside.
Do Honeywell Air Purifiers Emit Ozone?
No, Honeywell HEPA Air Purifiers use HEPA Filtration that does not release ozone into the surrounding area.
Is this a good air purifier for smoke?
The Honeywell InSight Series HEPA Air Purifier is effective at removing smoke particles from the air. It captures up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens and particles, including smoke. It is also rated CADR 114 for smoke by the AHAM which means it can clean a room of 190 square feet 4.8 times per hour.
The Honeywell InSight™ Series Air Purifier delivers powerful HEPA filtration and features a cutting-edge design that displays device setting information from a distance. The easy to read color coded feedback on the clear Insight™ Display Panel will illuminate which cleaning level (4 available) you've selected. The Honeywell InSight™ HPA5100 HEPA Air Purifier uses Certified HEPA filters to help capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens and particles.1 This portable air purifier can help capture airborne particles such as dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander and mold spores in medium to large rooms (4.8 x air changes per hour in a 190 sq. ft.).2 This makes it an excellent choice to use as an air purifier for allergies or as a pet air purifier. In addition, the carbon activated pre-filter helps trap larger particles and helps reduce odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
A+ Genuine Pre-Filter or A Pre-Cut Pre-filter
This medium to large room air purifier works with a Honeywell A Pre-Cut Pre-filter and A+ Pre-Filter. The Pre-Filter is the first level of filtration and helps capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers and pet fur and helps to reduce VOCs & odors from cooking, smoke, bathrooms and pets. AHAM Verifide
This hepa air purifier is AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) Verifide meaning that it has been independently tested to ensure its efficiency in reducing smoke, dust and pollen in the suggested room size. The AHAM assigns a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) Rating that measures the volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. The Honeywell HPA5100 InSight™ HEPA Air Purifier received the following CADR Rating:
- 4.8 Air changes per hour in a 190 sq. ft. room
- Tobacco Smoke: 114
- Dust: 140
- Pollen: 140
- From the air that passes through the filter, 0.3 microns and larger.
- Based on 3rd party independent CADR testing for the smoke CADR value when operated at the highest level. Air circulation depends on many factors, such as room size and configuration. There is no guarantee that all of the air in a room will pass through the filter.
