I work as a Range Officer at my local gun club and compete with the United States Practical Shooting Association. I use these in both. The battery life is exceptional and it's common to wear these for a full day. The controls and active hearing protection all work despite a pretty aggressive use over about a year. The sound reduction is what it says it is, but the volume controls are pretty great. You can hear the range commands and surrounding conversations when you need. Plus, with bluetooth, you can listen to music.
