Makes a difference!

This little cartridge stops the sludge and algae buildup from my spring water and allows my humidifier to work better because it prevents the paddle, that lets the water flow into the filter reservoir, from clogging up and sticking. My humidifier kept indicating it was out of water, even with a freshly filled tank, before I started using this Protec cartridge and I no longer have that issue. It makes a huge difference for the longevity of the filter as well.

I love all 3 of my Honeywell products

I own three Honeywell machines for my homes ... 2 True HEPA Air Filtration systems ... one for each home, plus a Humidifier. I bought a True Air HEPA Filtration system for my mom! She loves it ... especially with two cats & COPD! The replacement filters are easy to order directly from Honeywell & reasonably priced for the high quality in my opinion :o. I have not hesitated to recommend Honeywell's products to my family & friends! We have had a number of times were smoke from fires have filled our homes for weeks ... no kidding ... So Calif has had years where we've had weeks of poor air quality from fires! I just close all windows & turn on the True HEPA filter ... within 30 minutes I can't smell smoke & my eyes & lungs have stopped stinging! Worth its weight in gold to me!

Time-saver!

I've been using one of these in my Honeywell humidifier for a couple weeks now, and the filter has remained noticeably cleaner than before. I use tap water in my humidifier, and usually the filter starts to brown at the ends after a few weeks, but so far I don't actually notice it browning much at all. I used to clean the tray every day when I'd refill the tank, but I don't feel that I need to do that so often anymore. Win!

I wish I know this product from the beginning. Before knowing the product, I tried so hard to make the bad smell go away: I washed the filter every day and frequently washed the water tank. I cleaned the apparatus often. I almost thought I should pack up the humidifier. And then, I visited the Honeywell website and discovered this. Simple and easy to use

The water has stayed clean, smells normal and is not slimy. I honestly don't know if it is directly related to this item since I go through a tank of water daily during dry season in California. The water doesn't have much of a chance to get contaminated. Once the ambient humidity is regularly in the double digits and the water has a chance to sit in the tank for a couple days, I would be able to tell better. I do feel better with the device in the tank since I am not a fan of slime water whether I am experiencing it or not.

I exist in a LOCKED DOWN Nursing Home with DRY ALL-Electric heat with resulting ECZEMA and got a $40 HONEYWELL humidifier that is not giving me the % of humidity I want. I access the internet with a $300 laptop and have no printer on it. If I order again I could use the $5 OFF.

As far as mineral residue, this has not changed anything. I need to switch to filtered water. Lots of iron and manganese in the area. What I have noticed is that I no longer get mold growing on the wick. Being tested as mold sensitive a few common types, this is a big deal to me.
